For the 2nd year we’ve supported Steph and the team at Great Western Air Ambulance’s Charity Ball at the elegant Devere Hotel, Tortworth Court. We had a great evening providing general reportage but also running our studio area to provide lovely formal portraiture as well as some more fun images with our props. To support the charity we encouraged the guests to add a donation for the formal shots. The evening was an incredible success and we look forward to working with Steph at next year’s event which is already booked in!

I’ve recently visited the Middle East and this shoot brought it all back to me. The only thing missing was the sizzling heat and camels.

What we did have was the most intimate of 18th birthday parties, in the grounds of the host; an amazing beautiful background to this stunning venue.

All the intimate details were captured, the reactions to the speeches, the happiness, the laughter and the love. All in a day’s work .

Last week we photographed Semi’s Talent Forum at Bristol University’s Student Union building in Clifton. Spread over two days, it’s been an eye opener into the world of semiconductors and technology. We’ve captured the ambience at the event, the speakers, the exhibits and the interactions. Who knew a Cray Supercomputer from the 70’s, weighed 5 tons, cost $8M and is less powerful than an iPhone. We learned something too!

In amongst it all, we also provided a profile photo service for anyone who wanted to update or get a professional headshot of themselves, in our dedicated studio area with professional lighting.

St Monica Trust have several retirement villages around the Bristol / SW region. Each is beautifully designed and exceptionally managed. It really is the place to be. A safe, caring and friendly environment.

This shoot was to be able them to showcase their show homes and to promote the kind of living experience you can expect living in one of their properties.

I had the pleasure of shooting with a lovely lady, whom performed her modelling duties effortlessly.

As we love St Monica trust and do so much work with the trust, we even provided them with a simple short movie of their space at no cost. It was a chance for us to promote that as a potential added service we can offer to other clients for would find that useful.

We recently had the pleasure of meeting The Rt Hon Claire Perry MP when we photographed a showroom opening managed by Alastair Currie Events. Claire Perry, Minister of State for Energy and Clean Growth and MP for the Devizes Constituency, formally opened the new showroom and offices for the engineering firm.

We provided reportage photography of customers, suppliers and staff attending the opening event and photographed Claire Perry whilst she delivered her excellent speech on environmental issues and the efficient heating systems produced by the engineering firm. We also took marketing photographs of the new office and sales showroom and took head shots of the staff.

The photography was provided on a fixed fee based on duration.

The team at Event Photography Bristol can’t get enough of gadgets and new technology. So we were really excited to be invited to photograph the event to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Toshiba Telecommunications Research Laboratory (TREL) in Bristol.

It was a beautiful sunny day. (Much to the amusement of the visitors from Japan who advised us that it always rains when they attend events in the UK!)

We listened eagerly to the plans for the next generation of tech that is yet to hit the shop floor but will be as exciting as it has been for the previous 20 years. You heard it here first… ;)

During the event we had the pleasure of photographing Koji Tsuruoka, Ambassador of Japan to the United Kingdom and Mrs Peaches Golding OBE, Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of the County and City of Bristol.

We took reportage photographs throughout the event including attendees enjoying the string quartet during the reception. We also photographed the speeches and captured group shots of the delegates. This was all for a fixed fee based on event duration.

This summer we worked with Alastair Currie Events (ACES) to photograph Meg’s 21st birthday celebrations. The stunning party took place in the beautiful Somerset countryside and featured a three-course meal, magician, speeches, an outdoor fire pit and lots of dancing to the on-site DJ.

We’ve worked with ACES for a number of years and the events they organise are always spectacular with an amazing attention to detail. As the event was a private party we can’t show you all the photographs but hope this selection gives you a flavour of this elegant event.

We also took the time to take portrait photographs of the family together; capturing special memories of this important milestone in Meg’s life.

We love photographing outdoors when the weather is good and this month we were in for a treat when we photographed this year’s St Monica Trust Family Day. Every year, St Monica Trust rewards its hard-working staff by inviting employees and their families to enjoy an afternoon having fun and relaxing. This year the team had exclusive use of Wild Place Project, a family attraction providing outdoor adventure and amazing wildlife.

During the shoot we provided reportage photography of St Monica Trust staff and their families enjoying the attractions and spending quality time together. We also had the chance to photograph some of the local wildlife…Check out the stunning giraffe that happily posed for us!

Looking at the big smiles, everyone had as much fun as we did!

We always love working with our long-standing client, St Monica Trust. This summer we enjoyed working with the team on two very different photoshoots.

Our first shoot involved photographing the very talented artist, James Lynch and his amazing carer at St Monica Trust, Kate. James is a resident at St Monica Trust’s retirement village, The Chocolate Quarter. When Kate started caring for James she took the time to research his famous art career and helped him exhibit his artwork. We took beautiful portraits of James and Kate and were delighted to see our photographs feature as the centre piece in this year’s St Monica’s Trust’s annual review. We also photographed some of James’ fantastic artwork.

A couple of weeks later we were back at The Chocolate Quarter to photograph the unveiling of James’ art exhibition. We were in very good company, with the launch being covered by BBC Points West. This time we offered reportage photography of the event.

This week, we had the pleasure of delivering this gorgeous Loxley Colour multi panel wall mosaic to Fred and his family.

Earlier in the year we photographed Fred and his family celebrating his 70th birthday. We took stunning natural photographs of the family spending time together and captured some touching moments between them.

After the shoot we worked with Fred to select some of his favourite photographs to create a beautiful memento of the occasion. We sourced and organised the printing so Fred could enjoy the finished product without any of the hard work. Fred and his family were delighted with the final result, commenting:

“It looks fantastic, thanks for all your help with it, a great memento of his birthday celebrations.”

Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Fred and his family to celebrate his 70th birthday. The family were staying at the prestigious Lower Mill Estate in the Cotswolds to mark the occasion, providing a beautiful backdrop for the photographs.

Despite the inclement weather, we took some stunning natural photographs of the family both inside and outside. As you can see, we captured touching moments between the family as they enjoyed spending time together.

We provided the family with a three hour portrait shoot for a fixed fee. We also worked with Fred to select some of his favourite photographs and create this gorgeous Loxley Colour multi panel wall mosaic.

It’s not often you get to have dinner underneath the wings of the iconic passenger plane, Concorde. But that’s exactly what guests experienced at GKN’s awards ceremony and dinner at the newly opened Aerospace Bristol.

The awards ceremony showcased individual star awards for exceptional contributions to the business, including long service awards for employees serving 20, 30 and even 50 years for the company. We had great fun photographing the glamorous guests and fulfilled a lifetime ambition to ‘fly’ on Concorde.

We offered portraits of guests on arrival with Concorde as a spectacular backdrop; reportage photography throughout the events; and individual shots of the award winners. All for a fixed price based on an hourly rate.

I've not arrived at a prom before to be greeted with 'ah great, you're the non-grumpy photographer we had last year!' True of course, I am not grumpy at all, Churchill's previous photographer apparently was.  

So this was the 2nd year for @ChurchillAcad for us and it included a fantastically eclectic mix of photos, including a wheelchair bound student with a broken leg, several chaps with uniquely colourful attire, guys with big hair and for the first time on a prom shoot, the inclusion of a boat!

A great group of students to photograph and a lot of fun. Oh and it's also nice to get a good staff photo too. ;)

For the 3rd year in a row, we've had a the pleasure of providing photography and on site printing for the students at St. Katherine's school. It was held at the lovely location of Leigh Court on the outskirts of Bristol. 

We provided our extra large studio backdrop and printed 9x6 photos during the evening, along with the option of the students being able to download their purchased images in digital form for free from our Client Collections gallery.

The Event...

This year Ashton FC were honoured to have David May (ex Manchester United) for the afternoon session and Ray Clements (ex Liverpool) for the evening awards held at Ashton Gate, home to Bristol Football Club. Both were really nice chaps and Ray's encouraging words at the end of the evening were great inspiration for the youngsters. The whole event was superbly organised and produced; a credit to Ashton FC. The event has gone from strength to strength over the years we have done it. 

What we do...

Our team provides 6x9 prints immediately during the awards on site, with or without mounts and with the ability for the purchaser to download their own digital version using a vouchercode we provide with each transaction. We also offer online packs of photos, which are heavily discounted if used with a vouchercode. All of the photos are uploaded by the next morning (available now by the way), divided into each team making it super easy to find your photos after the event. 

From my recent tour of the abandoned city of Pripyat and surrounding areas. Amazing examples of dilapidated buildings and interiors. More to be posted over the forthcoming days.

The Event

A reunion of the crew and their partners of HMS Churchill. Featuring a full military brass band (amazing)

What we offered

We joined the event at the start, providing a separate studio area with our studio lighting and our massive 6m wide black backdrop.

The client wanted the crew to be able to have their photos taken with their partner on arrival and to have one group photo of 50 or so crew members. 

Each 6x9" photo printed we charged £8 and we included a digital version that they could download at their lesiure from our website. 

We also included the HMS Churchill logo in the photos at the client's request. 

As it was a relatively small group of people we took a deposit, but this was refunded on a sliding scale once we had sold 25 prints. This helps us provide the service without any additonal cost.

The brass band were amazing. 

Another year and we've been again to photograph two venues for Hype Agency to provide images for marketing material and the web to promote next years Christmas Party offerings.  

We provide a broad range of shots, including the setup and entertainment provided to capture what are amazing parties.

One of our more unusual photographic assignments recently, has been to photograph a large collection of beautiful barographs for a client who has had a passion for meteorology since being a young lad. His collection has grown significantly over the last 40 years and he now feels it's time to part with some of these instruments.

A bit more about Barographs

The barograph is a barometer which records a trace on a chart which is fitted to a clockwork drum which, in most types, revolves once every week. This type of instrument became very popular in the mid-Victorian age with little change in style over the last 150 years. The display barograph is the most sought after type, having a bevelled 5-glass hardwood lid & a chart draw at the base. Particularly collectable models a have barometer dial linked to the mechanism, a fitted thermometer maybe rounded corners to the hardwood base. Larger versions of these instruments can be found in sports & country clubs, town halls & hotels. 

They also make an ideal gift for the home or office.
